This year my son Gio, really wanted his dad to coach his basketball team… so Sam could not pass up the opportunity.
The boys (aka the SPURS) really played their hearts out year and were undefeated during the regular season and eventually went on to take first place in their division. As a special gift for working so hard, Sam wanted me to photograph the team. All but two members of the team made it out for our last minute photo session and I hope they love their Sports Illustrated like images.
A special thanks to Coach Ren who volunteered his time and help Coach Sam coach these boys to victory.
Gio, my son… Thanks so much for working through the pain - I am so proud of you and your dedication to improving your skills each game. Your drive both on defense and offense was was nothing less than impressive.
Justin… Thanks for your incredible defense and your ability to focus under pressure. I think it could be said, that your strong defense won a game or two for us.
Neil… Our most improved player, thanks so much for your hard work. Your dedication to the Spurs showed as you gave it 110% each game.
Matt… Joined us late in the season but his defense skills game in handy just when we needed it the most. Thanks Matt for giving it your all game after game.
Micah… A true leader who handled the pressure well all season. Thanks for being the quite force on the team that surprised the competitors with your incredible poise, your ability to read the court and your amazing shots.
Derrick… Big shots and amazing speed are just the beginning of what you brought to the team. Thanks for your incredible drive right down the center and leading our team in scoring. You came ready to play BIG each game and never allowed the game to play you.
Robert… Who says spirit doesn’t count. Thanks so much for your positive attitude and your team spirit. Each game we saw how your hard work defensively helped our team come out ahead. Each game you left it all on the court and kept our spirits high,
Javin (not pictured)… Thanks your strong offensive plays and even stronger defensive plays. Having you on our team as a forward was a key to our victory.
Drew (not pictured)… You flew below the radar of the other teams but you were our secret weapon and an all around fantastic player. Thanks for playing all aspects of the game so well that the other teams just did not know what to expect from you.
Here’s to a job well done… I am so proud of all of you. There will be more picture to come your way soon. Javin and Drew, just have your folks give me a call and I will be sure to get your photos done as well.

WOW! These are incredible pictures of an amazing group on young men who individually contributed their best to acheive on common goal. SPURS, as parents, we will always be your #1 fans in life. Good luck and God bless in all you endeavors. Thank you coach Sam and coach Ren for the love, care and time you’ve given our kids. You guys were incredible despite what the refs had to say. LOL. Thanks for taking one (T foul) for the team. Patrice, The pictures have made the basketball season that much more memorable…thank you for your gift. Let’s do it again next year.
